Cellular and Molecular Biology (CMB)

The graduate program in Cellular and Molecular Biology uses a focus group structure:

  • The Focus Group structure allows students to explore the breadth of research across campus while accessing the expertise of each individual trainer.
  • The Focus Group categories are: cancer biology, cell adhesion & cytoskeleton, cellular & molecular metabolism, developmental biology & regenerative medicine, immunology, membrane biology & protein trafficking, molecular genome biology of microbes, plant biology, RNA, systems biology, transcriptional mechanisms, and virology.
  • CMB provides students the opportunity to work with more than 190 CMB faculty trainers in over 40 different departments, on a campus known for interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration.
