Position title: Chemical & Biological Engineering
We are a multi-disciplined research team that applies synthetic and systems biology techniques study microbes used in applied biotechnologies. For example, we implement metabolic engineering strategies in microbes including E. coli, Pseudomonads, yeast, and cyanobacteria, to produce value-added fuels and chemicals from renewable resources. Elsewhere, we develop tools for understanding and controlling steps in the central dogma of biology as well as improving the properties of critical enzymes used in our metabolic pathways.
