Position title: Bacteriology
We focus on the study of natural products biosynthesis by bacteria, with the ultimate goal of exploiting these biosynthetic mechanisms for the production of new drug derivatives or valuable bioproducts. We use a combination of directed evolution of metabolic engineering to achieve these goals.
